The Museum of disABILITY History

nn
The museum is one large room so it doesn’t take long to see everything. The exhibits cover how people with physical and mental disabilities have been viewed and cared over the years and how things have changed for the better as diseases and conditions have been studied, understood, and treated when possible. I’m kind of disappointed that there isn’t a section about the struggle to get fair treatment. Credit should be given to the people who fought, sometimes for years, to get their children in the public school system, to remove their relatives from deplorable conditions in state institutions, and to change building codes to allow access for all people. A big thank you to them from me!

  Everything is accessible.

The parking lot is large enough for RVs.  Museum
