Alaska Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve
The state made a special pullout with interpretive signs, paved trails, a boardwalk and a viewing deck so that visitors can easy see and photograph the large concentration of eagles that arrive every November. The entire trail is about three miles round trip and eagles may be seen at anytime of year. We spotted only one.
The trail and boardwalk are posted as completely accessible but there are a few problem areas. Some of the asphalt has heaved from underground roots but it’s not too bad for rolling over. Both ends of the boardwalk where it meets the asphalt have a small step up. One short section of the trail isn’t paved-just hard packed dirt, a bit bumpy.
The parking lot is large enough for RVs. Preserve
