Legend Rock Petroglyph Site

The terrain along the road to the petroglyph site doesn't look like the terrain where petroglyphs are typically found. We were still wondering about that when we pulled into the parking lot but a short walk down the hill revealed a cliff with a large number of amazing images pecked into the rock. Some are believed to be 8000 years old while others may be only a few hundred years old.

The dirt trail along the base of the cliff is about 600' long and has 15 numbered markers. Pick up a brochure at the trailhead that explains the images found at each marker stop.
The trail is not accessible but the petroglyphs can be easily seen from the gravel trail that parallels the dirt trail. Bring binoculars for a closer look. The gravel trail goes down a hill so wheelchair users may need assistance.

The visitor center was not opened when we visited. It appears to be accessible.     The road is paved except for the final two miles. It goes down a fairly steep hill to the visitor center but the drive and the parking lot are fine for any RV. Petroglyphs  43.80028, -108.59762
