Leadville Heritage Museum
One room of the museum features dioramas which tell the story of one of Leadville’s leading citizens, Horace Tabor. Another has furnishing and other items donated by local citizens.
The second floor is accessed by a long flight of steps only- no elevator. We were given free admission because of this but I don’t know if that is standard practice. The first floor is mostly accessible. One display case has documents under glass on the top surface. These are too high to see. Some of the dioramas are in a narrow hallway which makes viewing them a little awkward. The outdoor display can be viewed from the sidewalk. The town is hilly and some of the curb cuts are very poorly designed. Wheelchair users may need help.
Parking for RVs is available along the streets near the museum. A RV lot is located about five blocks from the museum. Look for signs on Harrison Ave. The streets are narrow so be careful of obstacles when turning. Museum
