National Museum of Nuclear Science & History

nn
Displays lead visitors through the discovery of the atom, the construction of the first atom bomb, the decision to drop the bomb on Hiroshima, the aftermath of the bombings, and the end of WWII. Also covered are the Cold War and the arms buildup which led to a bomb shelter craze and influenced popular culture.

The museum is accessible with one steep ramp. An outdoor display of planes and rockets (which we didn’t visit because of the heat) is located in a gravel lot so it may be difficult to push around to all of the exhibits.

The parking lot is large enough for RVs.  Museum
