Agriculture & Forestry Museum
Old equipment and artifacts have been arranged to make life sized scenes of different aspects of Mississippi history –very nicely done. The museum also includes some large model train layouts. The main museum is just part of the complex which includes relocated buildings arranged around a “Main Street” and a building housing the collections of the Fitzgeralds –arrowheads, pencils, and old tools.
After entering the parking lot drive towards the sports museum and look to the left for the bridge that leads to the museum entrance. It’s a pretty far trek up and down a hill so there is some handicapped parking on the site. The entrance to that parking lot is located just west of the regular lot. The gate may be locked so you might have to make prior arrangements. The museum is accessible. The grounds around the little town Main Street are paved or hard packed sandy soil –easy rolling. About half of the buildings have usable ramps. The ramp to the general store, which sells souvenirs, drinks, snacks, and small antique collectables, has a raised section where it meets the porch that is a potential tipping-over-backwards hazard.
The parking lot is very big –plenty of room for any RV. Museum
