All of the short interpretive trails along the park road are very handicapped accessible – boardwalk or asphalt. The boardwalks are a little warped so the ride is bumpy. Parking lots and roadways have a heavy , uneven chip seal and are very bumpy to roll along.
We stayed at both campgrounds. The two handicapped sites at Long Pine Key are basically in name only,
no differences between them and a regular site. They do have tables with an overhang. They’re across from a bathroom but the pavement at the sites is small and there is no paved path to the bathrooms, just grass. We stayed in a regular site. Rolling around on the grass is not too hard as long as the site is fairly level.
The two handicapped sites in Flamingo campground are located in the tent and van loop so large RVs will not fit in the sites. These sites are better than the ones at Long Pine Key – large paved area, paved paths to the bathrooms and table with an overhang. There are more bugs though. Everglades
