We’ll stop at almost any quirky roadside attraction. Most aren’t very accessible but this one is okay. Working over twenty years, Edward Leeskalnin carved and assembled huge coral rocks to make a tribute garden, dedicated to a girl in his native county of Latvia who had declined to marry him.
The parking lot isn’t large so if you have a big RV, you’ll probably have to park in front of the building in the pull through section of the lot. Easy access to the ticket window, then open the gate by the turnstile to enter. The pathway to the castle is concrete but once inside, the ground cover is crushed red rock. It’s a little hard to roll through where it’s deep but most of it has been packed down.
Ed lived above the coral block tool shed in a small room with few conveniences. It's at the top of a flight of steps - no wheelchair access or photographs. Exit through a small gift shop which also includes a display case of artifacts and some old photographs-not too crowded with room to maneuver. Coral Castle
