Most of the national forest campgrounds that we visit are primitive but this one has a loop with water and electric hookups. Since we didn’t need either we chose the primitive loop which was almost empty and very quiet. Most of the sites in the primitive loop are small with sloping ground. Visitors with large RVs may need a double site or one in the electric loop as both are larger and leveler. A couple of the sites have a view of the lake and a short trail leads to a bench overlooking the lake.
The campground is managed by a concessionaire but is still self pay. The fees are a little confusing because the discount is not 50% for the developed sites and some of the sites are double.
None of the sites is designated as accessible but all have tables with extended tops and the level sites are usable. The only accessible restroom is located near the camp host sites. There’s a dip between the road and the accessible parking spaces so driving there may be the best option. Campground 37.40822, -88.66296
The fee thing, the $10 surcharge is not discounted for the hook ups but you do get the 50% off the basic site fee.
