Trees of Mystery Museum

IMG_4748

A break in the redwood forest on US 101 reveals a giant Paul Bunyan with Babe, his blue ox, guarding the parking lot of Trees of Mystery and tempting travelers to stop and pay $16.00 to see the same trees that they can see for free in the state and national parks. But don’t keep driving, stop and take a picture with Paul Bunyan, then head into the back of the gift shop to see the free End of The Trail Museum which represents 40 years of collecting by Marylee Thompson, the mother of the current owner of Trees of Mystery. The museum has hundreds of beautiful, Native American artifacts and artwork on display, grouped together by region and tribe.
