Harris Beach State Park

IMG_4885

The park road is a section of Old Highway 101 that has been closed to traffic at one end. The road after the campground entrance becomes a short, paved hiking/biking trail that ends at US 101. The trail also goes south to make a total distance of 1 mile with nice views along the way.

Wide sandy beaches can be accessed by a hiking trail through the forest or by driving to the beach parking lot.

The bike trail is paved on both ends ends but has gravel and woodchips in the main park area. It’s easier to roll along the road rather than using the gravel and woodchip trail. The forest trail is paved but very steep and does not provide wheelchair access to the beach. An ADA compliant ramp is located at the beach parking lot. The beach may be accessible with a beach wheelchair.

The main park road and the beach parking lot have long RV parking spots. We did not check out the campground.  Park  42.06651, -124.308
