IMG_4806

Three floors of exhibits include Native American baskets, mining and logging equipment, a Fresnel lens from the Saint George Reef Lighthouse, many wonderful black and white photographs, and items recovered from the Brother Jonathan, a 220-foot paddlewheel-driven steamer that wrecked off the shore of Crescent City in 1865 during a storm. 225 people died making this the worse disaster at sea until the sinking of the Titanic.  Photography isn’t permitted inside of the museum.

The ground floor of the museum is accessible. The basement level and the 2nd floor are accessed by steps only.

The parking lot at the rear of the building is large enough for any RV.   Museum  41.7543, -124.19915
