Empire State Trail

The Empire State Trail has two sections - one goes east/west from Albany to Buffalo and one goes south/north from New York City to the Canadian border - in total 750  miles. The majority of the trail follows railroad beds and the Erie Canal pathway so it's an easy trail with paved or finely crushed stone surfaces.

We walked/rolled along the trail in Niawanda Park, a linear park along bank of the Niagara River in Tonawanda, NY.  The trail is wide and smooth with separate lanes for walking and biking. From end to end the park is about 2.5 miles long.

There are several parking lots in the park. The one we parked at was originally for boat trailers but half of it is now parking for anyone. There's extra room in the driving lane so RV parked those spaces do not extend into the lane. Most of the other lots are large enough that RVs can be parked across the spaces.
