Buffalo AKG Art Museum

The museum features modern and contemporary art, from 1862 to the present. All of the galleries have changing exhibits so this is a museum that you can visit multiple times and not see the same things. The exhibit of  Marisol's life sized wooden sculptures is strange but intriguing.

An addition, opened in 2023, is accessed by a sky bridge on the second floor of the main museum. Consult the map that is provides at the admission desk so you don't miss any galleries.

The museum is accessible but construction is continuing on the exterior. We missed the main accessible entrance which is to the left of the museum steps because the signs aren't up yet and we walked around 3/4 of the exterior before finding the rear entrance.

There's a parking garage plus free on street parking on Lincoln Pkwy across from the museum and on streets south of the museum. We parked on Rumsey Road because there's a two hour parking limit on Lincoln Pkwy. Paved pathways in Delaware Park go to the crosswalk across from the museum. There's a painted crosswalk but no curb cut. Hopefully this will be fixed when the construction is finished. Other crossing points are missing crosswalks, good curb cuts, or sidewalks.
