Fifteen campsites sit high above the Umpqua River. A few have a river view and the rest are tucked into the trees. All of them are very roomy so this is a great campground if your group is large. Amenities include tables, fire rings and vault toilets. There’s no cell service. All of the sites except one are accessible. The paved trail that follows the edge of the hill above the river is paved and accessible but the steps and path down to the river are not. Campground 43.48497, -123.48415
A nice spot to stop for a day or three. Was it full when you were there? I like the fact that sites are nonreservable, since nowadays, most of 'em are.
ReplyDeleteWe got the last site. Things are little goofed up because of coronavirus. The sites had to be reserved which we didn't know because the website doesn't say that so when we got there the nice camp host told us that we needed a reservation but there isn't any internet signal to make a reservation. He let us use his wired line and we made a reservation which had a $12.00 charge so the site which should have cost us $7.00 cost $19.00. Sheesh! Hope it goes back to nonreservable now that the virus is pretty much under control.
DeleteYes, that charge is aggravating, especially since you guys were already there! This happened to us once in CO in May, and I objected to it then. I mean we were standing on the site itself and had to reserve it. I don't get it. Dislike.
