Blanchard Island Recreation Area

IMG_7925a   A great campground located on a back channel of the Mississippi River with mature trees and beautiful views from every site. It’s a little swampy so mosquitos may be a problem at times but we didn’t see any. The campground has tables, fire rings, and vault toilets plus a dump station and fresh water.

One of the toilets is accessible. None of the campsites is designated as accessible but most are usable. The ground is lumpy so rolling around is a bit difficult.

The sites are large enough for most RVs. Watch for low hanging branches. The access road goes up and over the levee and the angle may be too steep for RVs with long overhangs.  Campground  41.34647, -91.05647
