University of Wyoming Geological Museum
Wyoming has one of the richest fossil records in the US and this small museum has an impressive collection of fossils. Two large mounted dinosaur skeletons fill the main exhibit area – Apatosaurus with nearly 60% actual fossil bones and Allosaurus, a cast of the original which is on display at the Museum of the Rockies in Montana. Other exhibits include fossils and casts of dinosaurs, plants, and animals.
The museum is accessible. Getting to the elevator to access the second floor balcony exhibits involves a twisting and turning trip through hallways but signs point the way so you’ll won’t get lost.
During our visit construction projects had closed streets and blocked parking lots. It appears that parking is normally very limited so if possible park on one of the streets off of the college campus. We parked in the Art Museum lot and walked/rolled to the Geological Museum. The sidewalks and curb cuts are in fair condition. Museum 41.31408, -105.5834
