I’ve had the same wheelchair lift since my accident twenty years ago. It’s been transferred from our first motorhome into the two succeeding ones and is used almost everyday. It still works great but we decided to visit the factory while we were in the neighborhood and get a little tune up. It doesn’t have many moving parts so not much can go wrong. A few things were slightly worn but they were quickly fixed by Jeanenne, the granddaughter of the founder of the company, and her helper Dylan.
Handicaps Inc. was started by Jerry Kittle, who was disabled in an auto accident in 1954. His first invention was a set hand controls which he built in the hospital so that he could drive home. The small, family run company still makes hand controls but Jerry Kittle also invented the unique Superarm lift. The Superarm is ideal for RVs because it doesn’t require the installation of an additional door. It takes up very little room and doesn’t need a lot of maintenance. I highly recommend both the company and the lift. :- ) Handicaps
