Indian Road Campground

001
We didn’t stay here but since we were driving right by we stopped  to check it out. There are about ten campsites around a small loop road. All of the parking areas are parallel to the road. One site is handicapped accessible, although it is not marked as such. It’s the only one with a long pull through space. It also has a fire pit with high sides and a paved path to an accessible vault toilet. The tables at all of the sites have a long overhang on one end.

The little park where the campground is located has a boat ramp and access to the Canyon Ferry Reservoir. No fee box that we could find.  Campground

  1. Hey, thanx for this post. I just requested the free Montana guide (for next year's use). Isn't Montana a great state?

  2. We love Montana! This was a pretty fast trip through for us because of the cold weather coming but we could spend months there.

It seems to me that when we traveled in Montana years ago many of the fishing access sites were not allowing camping. There's a new website that maps all the public camping areas including fishing access sites with camping - free or inexpensive.

    Here's the link - http://www.ultimatecampgrounds.com/uc/index.php/montana

The links to the campgrounds aren't working right now but I notified the owner of the site and he's working on it.

  3. Appreciate it. We've spent a few summers camping and fishing on the Yellowstone River in Livingston (as well as camping in other areas of MT). Awesome, Big Sky state!

    Stay warm in Washington!

  4. Hello guys! Found this site late one afternoon in late August while driving towards Texas. Pulled my 40'er off to the side of the access road and walked in to verify that I could make it in....AND out ;) without unhitching my toad. Looked good so went in and spent a nice night there. Only other camper was a Frenchman, traveling the U.S. on a BMW motorcyle fulfilling his life's dream. He had just spent the summer traveling Alaska. We talked motorcycles and travel, world politics, the US position in it, etc. etc. and in the morning I invited him over for coffee and breakfast. We continued our chat for 2 hrs.
    Camping at it's best!!
just put a 'rating' on the site's link.
    Stay well, keep smiling, ron
