Pioneer Park Wildlife Refuge

 017
An elevated boardwalk winds through the refuge allowing visitors to look down into the animal enclosures. All the animals except for two ostriches are native to Florida and can not be released back into the wild. There are alligators, turtles, a bear, panthers, fox, deer and otters. The refuge isn’t very big but it’s nice. The animals look very healthy and have a lot of room in their enclosures.

The refuge is accessible. The sections of the boardwalk that have an uphill slope do not have level spots but the slope is slight enough that stopping isn’t a problem. The newer interpretive signs are at a height that is easy to see. Older signs are too high to be easily read.

The parking area is large enough for RVs.  Refuge

  2. Hi Danny - The little maps on our blog are clip art maps from a software program that I bought years ago. I should get some newer software because the maps aren't very good. Some of the states don't even have the correct shape but they work for the purpose. I put the dots on with a simple photo program. At this point the maps are added to the blog as little pictures. The link to the Google map can be inserted by right clicking on the little map in the edit posts format. I'm not sure if it works that way when you're actually composing the posts on a blog because I use Live Writer. When you're getting the link off of the Google map click on the placemark on the map then the little link icon to make sure that the link connects to the subject of your post.

I think that I've made this seem complicated but it's really very easy!
