Siuslaw Pioneer Museum

Tourism supplies a large portion of the jobs today but for years logging, commercial fishing, and agriculture were the economic mainstays of Florence, Oregon. The museum has hundreds of neatly arranged items representing the original industries and demonstrating changes made over the years. Other displays include furniture, household items, and toys treasured by pioneering families. Photographs of the girls chosen to be Queen Rhododendra at the annual Rhododendron Festival fill another exhibit.
The museum has a ramp to the rear entrance. A lift operated by museum personnel accesses the second floor. Most of the displays are accessible but some areas are tight and the room with the photos of the rhododendron queens has very narrow aisles and is not accessible.
The parking lot is too small for large RVs but street parking is available.
