Twenty sites are nestled under the trees in this new growth forest. Five more walk-in sites are located in a grassy meadow with a view of the Manistee River. The campground was almost empty when we stayed mid-week but it may be busier on weekends when people come to hike and backpack on the 4,600 mile North Country Trail or ride ORVs on the many dirt roads and trails in the area.
None of the sites are designated as accessible but most can be used. The ground is hard packed so rolling is fairly easy. Campground 44.49196, -85.41687
I spent a couple of years in Traverse City, actually I retired from the Coast Guard there, nice country! Too much snow but nice country.
