Thirty-one murals and sculptures commissioned by the Ely Renaissance Society depict the history of Ely and the ethnic diversity of the immigrants who settled in the area. Most are located along a 10 block stretch of Aultment Street in Ely’s historic downtown.
All of the sidewalks have curb cuts but many do not meet the street evenly so wheelchair users may need assistance. It’s possible to see all of the murals without leaving your vehicle.
The Hotel Nevada has a parking lot reserved for trucks and RVs. Overnight parking is permitted. Even though the casino was not opened due to coronavirus precautions we were able to stay overnight.

One of the best laundry mats we have ever used was right there in Ely. Three sisters who kept it clean enough to eat off the floor.
ReplyDeleteWe went there! It's the only laundromat in town as far as I know. I did notice all of the google reviews about how clean it is.
DeleteAs many times as I've been to Ely, I don't recall seeing the murals. Maybe they're newer. Nice to see them. Wondering if you had hookups at the casino?
ReplyDeleteI think most of the murals were done between 1999 and 2002.
DeleteNo hookups. Just a paved lot but the price was good. ;-)
