American Legion Campground
Wisdom, Montana is a tiny town at the crossroads of Routes 43 and 287. It has most of the things that a traveler might need – gas, motels, restaurants, and groceries – plus a free campground. Big Hole National Battlefield is just ten miles west so the campground an ideal place to stop for the night.
The campground is a large flat field with picnic tables and fire rings. It also has vault toilets and a covered cooking shelter. It’s not marked well. The entrance is on Route 43 west of the bridge before crossing into Wisdom and on the south side of the street.
