All the sites are designated as accessible. The lake has a paved trail to the water's edge. The trail from the campground to the lake is not accessible. We did not try any other trails.
The roads to the campground are a little narrow and twisty but paved and should be fine for all RVs. The maximum campsite length is 45' Park 38.95277, -78.73472Tuesday, October 18, 2022
Trout Pond Recreation Area
Twelve sites out of thirty-six in this remote campground have electric hookups and several are double sites which are great for family groups. Most of the sites are fairly level but we were glad that we didn't reserve a site and were able to get one of the best. Amenities include picnic tables, grills, flush toilets, showers, a dump station, and a small lake for fishing and swimming.

I've never been to West Virginia but I did see a WV license plate last week! That was the second WV plate I remember seeing in the last 20 years or so. (We used to play the license plate game a lot!)
ReplyDeleteActually, I drive thru a corner of the state on an interstate, but that doesn't really count...
Maybe the people that live there have a hard time finding their way out of the state! :-D West Virginia is a pretty but since the Appalachian Mountains run through it, there are a lot of narrow winding roads. We haven't explored it much even though we lived just to the north in Pittsburgh for years. The road to Trout Pond dead ends - one way in, one way out.
DeleteI've been to WVa many times, mostly in the northern part of the state. It is a beautiful state, except for where coal mining has destroyed whole mountains -- and that has happened much too often.
ReplyDeleteYes, and the people that live in West Virginia haven't benefited much from all the money made from coal mining and the forest industries but they sure did inherit the problems!
