Lost Creek Road Boondocking

Lost Creek Road is just one of many forest roads in Lassen National Forest with easily accessed boondocking spots. This road is particularly good because the terrain is fairly flat. Most of the clearings were made during logging operations so the large areas of the ground are covered with wood chips.

The soil is very fine and dusty making it difficult to navigate with a wheelchair.

The roads are in good condition.  Forest  40.26439, -121.36088

  1. We both LOVE that area, from Quincy all the way to McCloud. By the time we get to California this year, I am afraid we would be fighting off the smoke from the predicted fires that are most likely going to happen.

    1. It's a beautiful area but yes,the fires were so bad last year and with the continuing drought it looks like this year will be as bad or worse. I'm hoping not but it is a factor that we have to keep in mind especially if we're camping where we're surrounded by trees.

  2. I see other RV's -- was it crowded? Looks like a fine place to camp. We'd like to head up toward Shasta later on this summer and hope to find good boondocking up that-a-way.

    1. Not crowded at all. I think it's so far away from large cities that it doesn't get many boondockers.
The other RVer is a friend of ours. We camped there for three or four days and only one person came down our spur road and very few came down Lost Creek Road itself.
