Penn Brad Oil Museum

n
The area around Bradford was part of the Pennsylvania oil boom of the late 1800s. Oil still has a role in the town which boasts of having oldest continuously operating oil refinery in the United States. This small museum contains many artifacts and equipment from the early years of oil drilling. Also on site are a reconstruction of a typical oil field worker’s home and an oil derrick.

The main museum building is accessible but many of the displays are too high to be easily seen from a seated position. The lower level of the building is accessed by steps only but the equipment can be viewed from the landing. The house is accessible. The derrick may be accessible by using the rear doorway in the museum.

Parking is limited. RVs will fit in a large pull off directly in front of the museum but there are steps down to the entrance. An accessible lot is located a few hundred feet south of the museum. It's very hard to spot the entrance to this lot and the gravel driveway is very steep. Use caution if you’re driving a RV. The lot has a couple of paved spaces and a paved walkway to the museum.  Museum
