S.S. Klondike National Historic Site
Sternwheelers were used to transport supplies, gold, and people between Whitehorse and Dawson City until a good road was built in 1952. The Klondike was donated to the Canadian government and now, completely refurbished, is opened for tours.
Unfortunately only the freight deck is wheelchair accessible. Visitors who are not capable of climbing steps will be given a discount on the ticket price. We decided to skip the tour and enjoy the outside view from the park.
The parking area is large with long parking spaces just for RVs. Klondike
