Miami Beach Boardwalk and Promenade
This boardwalk isn’t a tradition one with the ocean on one side and saltwater taffy shops on the other. It does have a beautiful ocean and beach view but the other side is lined with luxury resorts. The boardwalk extends from 21st to 46th Street. At 21st it connects to a wide concrete promenade which continues to 5th Street. The connection is made with a long ramp with one flat spot. Both the boardwalk and the walkway are fairly smooth. Round trip is about 7 miles.
We couldn’t find any parking, on street or in the lots, until we got into the upper 20s and 30s. We parked a couple of blocks west on Indian Creek Dr. The on-street parking lane is extra wide and it wasn’t hard finding two parking spaces together where our motorhome fit nicely. Fees are $1.00 per meter per hour. There aren’t many ramps up to the boardwalk. We used one on 36th St. The promenade section has a ramp for most streets.
We wanted to see some of the Art Deco district so we walked (and rolled) part of the way back along Ocean Dr on the eastern sidewalk. The other side of Ocean Dr. is lined with shops and restaurants with sidewalk tables which would making rolling through difficult.
