A small lake was formed by a railroad embankment which slices off a section of the Snake River. The campground is large and flat, surrounded by steep, volcanic rock cliffs that are vibrantly green in the spring. The sites are randomly scattered with shade shelters over the tables. There's a vault toilet, a boat ramp and a dock. One site is next to the train tracks. We camped in the site farthest away and really didn't notice the noise.
The ground is rough and rocky but it's possible to pull up close to the shelters and have access to the tables.
Any size RV will fit in the campground. Campground 46.58559, -118.36883
Not a bad place to spend a night. Free is good!
ReplyDeleteFree is good! And this is a good time of year too - so green. Summer might be too hot.
