Navigating around the driveway loop should be possible with most RVs. There’s also room to park along the side of the road. Art 37.32351, -108.35314

David Sipe’s Folkart
We were driving west on US 160 in Colorado and spotted these carvings on the hillside. We had to turn around to get a better look! David Sipes and his partner Nancy Segel, have been creating art here for about 20 years so there’s a lot to see. When we pulled into the driveway loop Nancy came out to greet us but unfortunately we had a deadline and only had time for a short chat. If you like folk art to buy or just admire this is a must stop! We didn’t wander around but I suspect that wheelchair access is not very good.
Hmmm, I never noticed that the couple of times I've passed that way. Maybe it helps to have a second set of eyes.
ReplyDeleteThe art in the first photo is along the road but on a hillside so it's easy to miss. You can't see the rest of the property until you turn off onto side road where their driveway entrance is located. I didn't notice any of it. A second set of eyes does help!
DeleteHello - If you ever get down to western Kansas, M.T. Liggett's place on Hwy 160 is an interesting look. The Kohler foundation took over restoration and preservation after MT died.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip! I think we passed right near there a year or so ago but missing seeing M.T. Liggett's folk art. Next time for sure!
