This fishing access campground consists small loop with seven spots to pull off, a few picnic tables, and a vault toilet. There are trees but most of the sites are out in the open with little shade. One has easy access to the little lake. The road and sites are good for large RVs. The spot where we stayed, pictured above, is on the road going to the loop and has a great view of the water. This campground appears be lightly used and is fairly quiet due to it’s distance from the main highway.
A boat ramp on the Yellowstone River is about 1/2 mile away. It’s very close to where the Far West, a supply boat for the federal soldiers fighting the Indians, was docked in June of 1876 and the place where Custer received his final orders before leading his troops south along the Rosebud Creek and into the disastrous battle at Little Bighorn.
