Enchanted Highway
Gary Greff who grew up in the little farming community of Regent, North Dakota, left when he was just a teenager and worked as a teacher and principal before moving back to his hometown at age 40. Regent was losing population and slowly dying so Greff came up with a plan to attract tourists – giant metal sculptures! Seven sculptures all designed and built by Greff, have been completed with four more to come. Each one uses different construction techniques. They’re all amazing and worth the 32 mile scenic detour.
The sculptures can be easily viewed from your vehicle.
All of the sculptures have a large gravel lot with picnic tables and trash barrels. There’s plenty of room for any RV. We stayed overnight at the Geese in Flight sculpture which is right off of I-94. It was a bit noisy so if we pass this way again we’ll try one of the other lots. Highway
