A railroad passageway through the Rockies meant produce and manufactured products could be transported from the east to west and west to east, unifying the country. The last spike was driven in 1885. This is a typical rest area with restrooms and picnic tables. It also has a gift shop and a few interpretive plaques.
Everything is accessible.
The parking lot has long RV/bus spaces.
