Farnsworth Art Museum
The museum has changing exhibits focusing on artists who have a connection to Maine. The two largest current exhibits, paintings by Andrew Wyeth and a view of the Shakers through their crafts and handmade articles, are both interesting. We didn’t realize that there were more exhibits in the Wythe Center and missed seeing them. To get to the Wythe Center exit the museum into the garden area, go past the LOVE sculpture and across the street.
The museum is accessible.
A parking lot where vans or very small RVs will fit is located on Museum St. on the opposite side of the street from the museum. We parked along the street, taking two parking spaces. Museum

Being from Maine I see you finding a lot that I wasn't aware of. Of course I'm from thr other Maine, "Aroostook county' which is bigger then the states of CT and RI combined but the population is less then the state of RI so we had big yards. I enjoy following your travels nd thorough descriptions of each place you visit.

Aroostook county! We just went to museum in Bangor on Saturday and Aroostook county was mentioned many times in connection with snowplows and vehicles with skis where the front wheels should be and chains on the back wheels. And some of the biggest snow plows we had ever seen!
ReplyDeleteI'll post about it in a few days and include pictures of some of the coolest ones. You guys who live up there must be a hardy bunch! :-)
If you were i Bangor, Dysarts is a must stop for food and fuel.

Aww.. we missed Dyserts. Have to get it next time! We're down in Acadia NP right now and are planning on crossing into Canada by next week.
