Polk County History Center
This little museum covers the early history of Polk County with nicely done exhibits and artifacts. Displays about the Civil War, cattle ranches, orange groves and tourism fill the rooms on the first floor of the old 1908 courthouse. Two of the rooms have hands-on exhibits for kids.
Everything is accessible. The entrance on North Central Ave. has a ramp. The sidewalks and curb cuts are in good condition.
One hour free parking is located along E. Main Street. RVs will fit by using two spaces. Museum

Glad you RV fitted.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Love love, Andrew. Bye.
Hi Guys, I'm in the FL Keys now. Will you be heading this far south? If so, would love to get together and meet you! Safe Travels, Suanne (in the Prius, SuanneOnline.blogspot.com)
ReplyDeleteHi Suasnne,
ReplyDeleteOur plans are a little up in the air right now. We may be going down to the Miami area in a week or so. But if those plans ( meeting up with another RVing couple) fall through we'll probably stay around central Florida/ Tampa. When are you leaving the Keys? Will you be going up the gulf coast?
I'll be leaving the Keys in a couple of weeks. I'm hoping to spend a day or so in the Everglades area after that then will probably head north on the gulf coast side. Suanne
ReplyDeleteGreat! If we don't get down south maybe we can catch you as you come up the coast.
