University of Kansas Natural History Museum
All of the display cases in the museum have been refurbished but because of the narrow hallways and old exhibits it has a very turn of the century atmosphere. The animals in Panorama of North America Mammals were collected by a professor starting in 1880s and are a little faded and unnatural looking. Newer exhibits explore evolution and DNA.
Follow the signs for the accessible entrance. An elevator accesses all of the floors. There are a few steps up to the DNA exhibit on the fifth floor which is accessed by a lift operated by the museum personnel.
Parking is very limited. We visited on a weekend and parked along Jayhawk Blvd. in a handicapped spot that’s close to the museum and long enough for a short RV. Museum
