Garden of Eden and Lucas, Kansas
If you like folk art don’t miss Lucas. Kansas! It’s the home of a stone “log cabin” house surrounded by 200 concrete sculptures, all created by Samuel Dinsmoor. The project, which he started in 1907 at age 62 and continued working on for twenty-one years, expresses his religious and political views
We didn’t have time to visit all of the other folk art in town but we did stop at Bowl Plaza which is the most artistic public restroom in the world. :- D
The inside is decorated with mosaics using tile, pebbles, shells and found objects.
The restroom is accessible. Dinsmoor’s house has steps inside and out. Most of the sculptures are easily viewed from the street so it’s not necessary to pay the entrance fee if you can’t access the house.
RVs can be parked along the street. Garden of Eden
