Colorado State Fair
The midway, food stands and free shows attract the most attention at this fair. There are also plenty of goats, calves, bunnies and poultry. 4-H projects of every type fill the exhibit halls. It’s a pretty typical county fair except there are no produce displays – no giant pumpkins or rainbows of colorful vegetables. The Palace of Agricultural is a little mall with all kinds of junk for sale. :- (
Many of the buildings have slightly steep ramps to the entrances. Curb cuts from the streets throughout the fair grounds are not numerous and sometimes hard to find. The asphalt in the midway has large, deep cracks.
There are many official and unofficial parking lots. If you have a disabled parking hang tag and a RV the best thing to do is arrive early and park along Arroyo Ave. which has a blue painted curb and no space markings. We parked in the Air National Guard lot ($5.00) on W. Mesa. It’s very close to an entrance but the sidewalks do not have curb cuts. The shuttles that we saw in use were not accessible. Fair
