Boulder City-Hoover Dam Museum
This small but very well done museum has displays about the founding of Boulder City, where all of the dam workers and their families lived, plus displays and a movie about building the dam itself.
The museum is located in the Boulder Dam Hotel, one level up from the lobby. A small elevator provides access. The museum is accessible with just a few displays located a little too high for easy viewing.
Oversize vehicles are not allowed to park in the main part of town. Look for signs for the RV parking lot which is a couple of blocks east of the museum, near the post office. None of the spaces are long but RVs can park lengthwise across the car spaces. The sidewalks and curb cuts are in fairly good condition. Museum

One of these days, I'm going to go and do a little exploring around Nevada :p.
ReplyDeleteJust don't do it in the summer!
ReplyDeleteI think that you would really like Nevada. Lots of out of the way places to explore, small town museums, and good boondocking plus big city Vegas.
We've driven US 50 east to west and US 95 coming down from the NW -nice scenic drives on both.
My current plan to visit would involve going out via the tiny little highway out of the bottom right corner of Oregon and east towards Winnemucca, which would be my entry point :).
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a good plan - love those tiny roads. Water Canyon BLM campground south of Winnemucca is very nice and free too!
