Alabama doesn’t have a dedicated state history museum. The second floor of the archives building has a few rooms with displays covering Native Americans, military, and natural history plus a hands-on children’s room.

The archives has a free parking lot on Adams Street. It’s large enough for RVs. The first 1/3 of the lot is level but after that it slopes sharply downhill. Enter at the doors below the inscription –Alabama World War Memorial. Museum

Hey, c ur in Montgomery...I saw a motorhome like ur's parked on the West Blvd. down from the truckstop...is that y'all? If it is, do be careful, that isn't the best part of town. I wanted to stop and say hi and tell whoever was there to be careful and safe but decided I better not get in someone's business. Sure hope they stay safe. I've lived here all my life and I wouldn't park there overnight. Hope y'all enjoy ur stay here.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the concern BamaGirl! We're at Gunter Hill Campground right now but we were spending the nights at the Sams Club on Eastern Blvd. Nice and quiet-no problems.
