This is a very good museum with a wide ranging collection of Native American art and art of the American west. Permanent galleries include exhibits on the history and customs of the Miami, Potawatomi, and Delaware tribes who call Indiana home; art and artifacts from tribes in North America; and traditional western art.
Costumes, props, and movie posters from early silent Westerns up to recent classics were on display in one of the special exhibit galleries when we visited.
The lower floor is a large kid’s area with hands-on activities and costumes to try on.
The museum is accessible but seeing all of the floors requires using elevators on opposite sides of the hallway.
We parked several blocks north in the lot adjacent to the Indiana Historical Society. Parking is free with admission to the Historical Society museum or with a $7.00 purchase - get the ticket stamped at the admissions desk. Small RVs will fit if pulled through two spaces. Larger RVs can be parked on New York Street. The sidewalks and curb cuts are in good condition. Museum 39.76812, -86.16824
