Griffis Sculpture Park

101
Larry W. Griffis Jr  founded a successful hosiery company in Buffalo but his first love was always art. He moved to Rome in the 1960s to learn bronze casting then returned to rural New York to create giant metal sculptures. Many are on display at the two park locations which are a few miles apart. The sculptures at the Rohr Hill Road Site are mostly by Griffis but the Mill Valley Road Site features sculptures by other artist along with ones by Griffis.

Both park areas are hilly with rough paths through the woods so very little is accessible. Some of the sculptures at the Rohr Hill Road Site are easily seen from the road. Traffic is minimal so it’s possible to roll along the road for a better look.

RVs will fit in the parking area or along the road at the Rohr Hill Road Site but the parking lot at the Mill Valley Road Site is very small and may be filled on the weekends.  Park
