Charlotte County Historical Center

nn
The historical center is preparing to move to a new location so most of this information will soon be outdated. The center is fairly small but uses many artifacts and photographs to tell the stories of  the people of Charlotte County from the early Native Americans to frontier settlers who came to harvest the seafood, raise cattle and fruit, and promote tourism.

The current center is accessible. A long ADA compliant ramp leads to the entrance where a bell must be pushed for access.

The parking lot is very small. We parked in a lot at the shoreside park located just east of the center. Larger RVs will not fit in the lots or on the street.  Center

  1. Hello Karen n Tony! Just caught up on your blog and also on coffe drinking! LOL Its my only addiction. So your Nova Scotia post is very nice. I want to do the Nova Scotia trip in a time frame to include coming back south durring the peak leaf changing colr seson in the New England state and follow the Appalachian mountains south. Its gonna be tricky timing since mother nature doesnt follow a set calendar with color changing. Your Nova Scotio interactive map will be a great resource! Please let me know if you are passing thru Nc and if I am home you may camp on the farm, with full hook ups! Plus I will introduce hou to the horses.

  2. Thanks for the offer to camp Bill! As of now our plans are to go up the Gulf coast of Florida, over to Mobile then north through Tennessee, Kentucky on our way to Nova Scotia so it doesn't look like it'll be this year. I think you'll still be out on the road having fun anyway when we head up north in the middle of April. :-)
